Originally conceived as an online mix for Tehran based Zarabat under the name while you were sleeping, BLKRTZ041 is a hybrid live/mix of Deadbeat's extensive works over the lockdown period during 2020. Clocking in at 3 hours in length, the release clearly shows he has been nothing if not productive over this period of global slow burning turmoil. The mix deftly surfs the tsunami sized waves of self-doubt and melancholy which have crashed down upon each and every one of us during the current pandemic, but there is a spirit of unfailing hope at it's core. Featuring collaborations with Mentrix, Appleblim, Paul St Hilaire, Maarten Vos, Martin Bakero, Om Unit, PC Knakt, Sudden Reverb, and the Mole, the mix sees Deadbeat at the height of his powers in the realms of drone, dub, and liturgical sound design, and is certain to serve it's purpose for many a listener as a much needed psychic balm during these darkest of days, as we wait for the powers that be to turn the lights back on..
